Inspiration for “Blinding Sun”
“ She waits her turn to practice horseback riding on a sunny winter day, devoid of clouds. The sun's rays caress the young girl's hair, transforming it into strands of refined gold. Despite appearing gentle and soft, she feels the weight of fatigue after waking up early on a Sunday. Yet, deep down, the exhaustion fades in significance. The effort becomes worthwhile as she mounts her horse, feeling the wind brush her blond, wavy hair. As you observe the doll-like girl, she returns your gaze, squinting her delicate eyes against the brilliance of the sunlight. “

In this interview, Rima explains the meaning behind such creation. 'Blinding Sun' is one of the one-of-a-kind artworks you can find in our gallery store. Let’s delve into Rima’s thoughts and discover the subtle nuances that only she can decipher.
‣ What in the main inspation behind this painting?
”This painting was inspired by the children who have horseback riding classes as their main hobby. I say 'hobby,' but it feels more like meeting with a dear friend — a loyal horse that probably reciprocates the affection. These children often exhibit strong temperaments but learn to be softer around animals, especially after experiencing mistreatment from a bold, though not wild, horse.”
‣ We often see you use earthy colors. Is there a meaning in your color choices for “Blinding Sun”?
“In this painting, the earthy tones really transport me back to a horseback riding school — the color of the sand, the brushes, the stable, and the surrounding wood.”
‣ There are always some details in your painting that are hard to see at first glance but that help intensify the feeling it portraits. Are there any you would like to point out?
“Sure! This painting was fun and experimental in some areas but I always try to keep my artworks quite realistic. In “Blinding Sun”, the girl’s hair contains the faintest strands of light yellow, which I achieved by removing the darker ochre above with a humid thin towel. To enhance the scene further, I decided to introduce a soft contrast making her clothes complement her golden hair with a desaturated blue tone.”
With these new details and insights, 'Blinding Sun' becomes even more captivating. Understanding its nuances allows collectors to better appreciate the piece they acquire and highlights the high quality and craftsmanship with which it has been created.
